Founder of Bowyard Partners and its Managing Partner. Advises clients across corporate transactions, energy and infrastructure projects, and high-stakes regulatory matters — with a practice built on the conviction that legal counsel should align with business strategy.
Atiku Jafar founded Bowyard Partners following a career that spanned both private practice and advisory work across some of Nigeria's most complex corporate and commercial matters. He established the firm with a conviction that Nigerian businesses operating in complex, high-value sectors deserved a law firm with the sophistication, commercial orientation and sector depth to match their ambitions.
His practice is anchored in a conviction that clients in complex sectors need more than legal advice — they need a partner who understands their industry, their commercial objectives and the strategic context in which decisions are made. This conviction is the foundation on which Bowyard Partners was built, and it remains the firm's defining characteristic.
As Managing Partner, Atiku combines active client advisory work with overall leadership of the firm. He advises regularly on cross-border transactions, infrastructure concessions, regulatory strategy and governance matters — engaging at board and C-suite level, providing counsel that integrates legal, commercial and policy considerations into a coherent strategic whole.
Outside of practice, Atiku is a committed advocate for the development of the Nigerian legal profession — through mentorship, participation in professional bodies and engagement on regulatory reform issues that affect the business community.
