Managing Partner Atiku Jafar joined a panel on youth innovation in future energy technologies at YES! 2025, organised by EnergyNet Ltd. and the Africa Energy Forum. Drawing on his background in Karim Lamido — a Nigerian community of over 200,000 people with no grid electricity — he addressed the legal scaffolding needed to unlock youth-led clean energy solutions across sub-Saharan Africa, including enabling licensing regimes, energy sandboxes, model PPAs and de-risking tools for early-stage ventures in the clean energy sector.

Atiku Jafar, Ahmad Umar Hassan and Muhammad Dikko represented Bowyard Partners at the 2025 Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference held in Enugu (22–29 August). The conference brought together the Nigerian legal profession to address developments in law, practice and the regulatory environment.

A practitioner-focused seminar examining the legal and commercial mechanics of public-private partnerships in the Nigerian infrastructure sector, with case studies on risk allocation, bankability and the role of DFIs in achieving financial close. Hosted in partnership with the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission.

Khalifa Musa and Atiku Jafar attended the Africa Gas Innovation Summit (AGIS) 2024, themed "Igniting the Future: Driving Sustainability in Africa's Energy Landscape through Gas Technology and Innovation." The summit featured discussions on the critical role of innovative technologies in achieving a sustainable energy future, the importance of industry-academia partnerships, and the transformative potential of gas as an energy transition fuel. Bowyard Partners contributed its perspective on building the legal and regulatory environments that enable energy innovation and sustainable investment to thrive.

Khalifa Musa and Atiku Jafar attended the Africa Natural Resources and Energy Investment Summit (AFNIS) 2024, themed "Natural Resources for Economic Development." The summit convened key stakeholders across the power, mining, oil & gas, agriculture and finance sectors to explore investment opportunities, facilitate cross-sectoral collaboration, and discuss sustainable development strategies. Building on prior discussions around energy access and the imperative of a just and equitable energy transition, the 2024 edition underscored the pivotal role of Africa's natural resources in fuelling economic prosperity and empowering marginalised communities.

Atiku Jafar joined the 95th Power Dialogue as a panelist, reviewing progress made since the enactment of the Electricity Act 2023 and examining the government's past and future initiatives to create an enabling environment for the private sector, investors, development partners and states to leverage the Act's provisions. He was joined by Dafe Akpeneye (Commissioner, Legal, Licensing & Compliance, NERC), Osefan Anegbe (Associate, Energy & Natural Resources, S.S. Kohn & Co.) and Damilola Alada (Executive Associate, Bloomfield LP). The dialogue was held at The Ventures Park, 5 Kwaji Close, Maitama, Abuja.

Atiku Jafar was featured speaker at the Virtual Unveiling Webinar of the Energy Law Society, organised by Professor Enefiok Essein Chambers of Justice at the Faculty of Law, University of Uyo. Hosted by Dateng Best Obadiah, Head of the Energy Law Society, the session introduced the Society and explored the fundamentals of energy law practice and the legal pathways to building a sustainable energy industry in Nigeria.

Atiku Jafar made two contributions at YES! / AEF 2023 in Nairobi. On 20 June, he received the Power in Your Hands Award — presented by President William Ruto of Kenya on behalf of EnergyNet Ltd., recognising his work as a YES! Ambassador and founding member of the YES Army. On 21 June, he joined a panel titled "Meet the Hustlers: Inside the Mind of the Entrepreneur" at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre alongside Kunle Alao Ph.D, Habiba Ali, Tracy Kimathi, Faith Aweko and Damilola Hamid Balogun — discussing entrepreneurial mindset, legal risk management, brand building, idea validation and the role of execution in turning innovation into lasting impact.

Bowyard Partners attended West Africa's premier sustainable energy event — the ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum (ESEF) 2022, organised by the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE). The forum brought together policy makers, regional and international private sector actors, and financial institutions to discuss and improve the policy and regulatory landscapes for private sector investment in sustainable energy across ECOWAS member states. The message was clear: catalysing investment in sustainable energy must be anchored by strong policy initiatives and cross-sector partnerships.
